Eight teenagers aged between 11 and 14 are under investigation over a rioting incident that took place at a fitness corner in Serangoon. The incident resulted in a 15-year-old boy injured, who was later conveyed to the hospital while in a conscious state.

In a statement on 16 January (Thursday), the police said they received a call for assistance at a fitness corner near Block 201 Serangoon Central around 4.15pm on 15 January.

The police added that a group of eight youths, comprising both boys and girls, are assisting with investigations into a case of rioting.

A 52-second video of the incident circulated online showed a group of youths surrounding the victim before kicking and pinning him to the ground.

The victim is seen seated on one of the fitness machines at the start of the video when one of the teens standing in front of him kicks him in the face.

He is then kicked in the side by two other teens and falls off the equipment as the three boys close in and begin raining punches and kicks on him.

The victim is seen lying on the ground while trying to protect himself from the blows with his arms as the boys continue to punch, kick and elbow him in the head and upper body.

Investigations are ongoing.
