Two KTV hostess had a cat fight in the KTV club that they were working for. One of the part-time KTV hostess was blinded in the left eye after her colleague’s stiletto heel hit her eye region, which caused her eyeball to pop out.
Both ladies, Siti Zahara Afifi Abdul Karim, and the victim, Nur Lena Rahmat were then working for Club One KTV Boutique when they had a strained relationship before the incident on 8 October 2015.
Siti Zahara’s younger sister had been in a relationship with the victim’s friend. After Siti Zahara’s younger sister broke up with Nur Lena’s friend, the latter wanted to continue paying for Siti Zahara’s younger sister’s braces.
Siti Zahara got into an argument with Nur Lena after the latter urged her friend not to continue paying for the braces.
The argument became a fight. Both ladies fell to the floor during the fight and Siti Zahara, who was wearing stiletto heels measuring about 14.5cm continued to kick her legs towards the direction of Nur Lena.
Nur Lena had felt the heel hit her eyelid twice before the heel went into her eye. Her eyeball popped out as a result and she was heard shouting: “I cannot see, I cannot see”.
She was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital where her left eye was removed and an implant was done.
She suffered permanent blindness in her left eye, and temporal partial vision in her right eye.
IN court today (3 October), Siti Zahara was convicted of causing grievous hurt to Ms Nur Lena. The court will hear her lawyer’s mitigation plea and the prosecution’s submissions on sentence on 31 October.
For this act, the maximum penalty is 4 years’ jail and a $10,000 fine.
