This is really as creepy as it gets.
A male GrabHitch driver who drives a Honda Vezel allegedly uploaded a photo of an old lady and drove a female passenger to a cemetery road.
A netizen by the name of “Nelson Martinez” published on Facebook saying that the driver told his girlfriend that there will be another rider but in the end, he did not pick up anyone else.
The driver then used a cemetery road instead of the expressway, which was supposedly 8 mins faster.
Martinez said that his girlfriend sensed that something was amiss so she called him and her family to inform them about her location and that she was on her way home.
After that call, the driver allegedly got out of the cemetery road immediately and entered the expressway.
Martinez reported this incident to Grab and according to him, the customer officer was also “freaked out” by the driver’s profile picture.
As part of Grab’s code of conduct, drivers must “provide a safe and clean transportation to all passengers”.
While the driver might not have driven recklessly, it’s questionable whether or not he has compromised the passenger’s safety by uploading an inaccurate profile picture and making a detour to drive past the cemetery.
According to Grab, this incident is under investigation.
