Man arrested for stealing a car that was parked along Sentul Crescent

The Police have arrested a 33-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of theft of motor vehicle. On 31 March 2018 at about 12.20 pm, the Police received a report that a car was missing after it was parked along Sentul Crescent.

Through extensive follow-up investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the suspect and arrested him along Sumang Lane within 6 hours after receiving the report. The stolen vehicle was also recovered.

The man will be charged in court on 2 April 2018 with the theft of motor vehicle under Section 379A of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he will be liable to an imprisonment term of up to 7 years and a fine.


The Police would like to advise all vehicle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:

  • Keep your car remote in a safe place;
  • Install an anti-theft alarm for your motor vehicle;
  • Install a GPS tracking device for your motor-vehicle.
