When she reached the hospital, she was told that she would have to be warded.  Ms Chen then requested for a single room, after the registration completed at the counter, she was brought up to the second floor where the staff drew her blood for tests.

She was then brought to another room on the fourth floor. That is when she realized something was not right. She said.

“They brought me to the room, and I found out that it was a shared room. I felt something was wrong so I told the nurse again that I wanted a single room, not a shared room.”

The nurse looked through her medical records and asked Ms Chen, “Are you Ms Li?”

Ms Chen was stunned and also feels this was unacceptable, she then clarified her identity.

They later brought her to the correct room and told her that she did not have any appendicitis and she was discharged the following day.

“I don’t know how could they make such a mistake like that” said Ms Chen

“What happened if she didn’t discovered they mistaken her for someone else and could have taken some medication or worst undergone a surgery that was not for her?” She added.

Ms Chen said that after she was discharged, she wrote a feedback to the hospital and the hospital had given her a satisfactory reply.

Accordingly to Lianhe Wanbao reports, the hospital spokesman said that investigations had been completed and the blood samples drawn from Ms Chen were not mixed up.

The spokesman from Parkway East Hospital also confirmed the incident and employee involved has since apologized to Ms Chen.

The hospital views the matter seriously, and begun the investigation on the same day they were alerted to the incident. In addition, the hospital views the matter seriously, and the hospital begun an investigation on the same day they were alerted to the incident.
