Car crashes into Melbourne CBD, injuring at least 13 pedestrians

A white car has mowed down pedestrians in one of the busiest areas of Melbourne’s CBD outside Flinders street station.

At least 13 people including a pre-school aged child were injured.

According to one eyewitness, the vehicle appeared to drive through a pedestrian crossing outside the city’s main Flinders Street station and crashed into a tram stop.

One of the employees at nearby Walker’s Doughnuts said there were screams before she witnessed people flying up into the air.

Two people have been arrested including the driver.

13 people have been conveyed to the hospital. The child who suffered a serious head injury has been taken to Royal Childrens Hospital.

The story is developing and people were advised to avoid the area.
