A Land Transport Authority security auditor has pleaded guilty to eight counts of sexual penetration involving minors under 16.
Soffiyan Hamzah, 38, also had seven other charges pressed against him for similar offences and 68 counts of commercial sex with boys under 18 will be considered during sentencing.
Using his Facebook account under the name “ItsmeDeedeeYourfrenlyfren”, he said that he was gay and would perform oral sex on anyone and that he would pay.
After the victims agreed to meet Soffiyan for oral sex, which he referred to as “work”, he would arrange to meet them near MRT stations out of convenience.
Most of his encounters took place in a toilet in JCube shopping centre in Jurong. He would meet the victims after cleaning hours or late at night when there was less human traffic.
The Deputy Public Prosecutor told the court that the accused would meet more than one boy in the same session.
The police was alerted to the crime by the teachers of one of his victims, after he told his teacher about the encounters.
Police arrested Soffiyan on 13 March. And his case has been adjourned to 3 January next year.
For each count of performing a sexual act on an underage boy, Soffiyan can be jailed up to 10 years and fined.
