The 70-year-old elderly man who was accused of abusing cats at Ang Mo Kio HDB void deck shares his side of story.

He claims that he only stomped loudly on the ground to scare the cat away and did not hit the cat.

According to his 30-year-old neighbour, the elderly man’s wife passed away one year ago and the couple was very loving. He was seen pushing his wife in a wheelchair and bringing her for walks below the HDB block.

He now lives alone and seems rather lonely.

When the neighbour returns from the market at around 9am, she would spot the elderly man sitting by himself below the HDB block.

Reporters tried to visit the elderly man at his house but there was no response.

According to the video posted by the lady (cat feeder), she claimed that the elderly man has been abusing cats and tried to snatch her phone to stop her from videoing him.

She also claimed that the elderly man raised his fist and wanted to hit her.

She shouted for help several times but passersby did not stop to help her. An Indonesian domestic helper who lives on seventh floor rushed down and used her hands to protect the elderly man from allegedly hitting her.

According to the lady, the helper rushed down barefooted as she did not have time to put on her shoes. The lady expressed gratitude towards the helper.

Shortly after the helper came down, the police arrived at the scene and resolved the issue.
