A 61-year-old female driver crashed into the overhead bridge at Jurong East Central after spotting a live cockroach crawling in her car.

Now before passing quick judgement, please note that fear of cockroaches is real. Many people suffer from cockroach phobia, otherwise known as, katsaridaphobia.

As seen from photos circulating online, the lady’s red Mazda was mounted on the pavement. Its front bumper looked severely damaged after crashing into the railing at the bottom of the overhead bridge staircase.

It was said she was driving along the road when she got a fright of her life after seeing the cockroach. She then lost control of the car and swerved into the direction of the overhead bridge.

Thankfully, it was a narrow escape.

It was believed that the lady only suffered minor injuries. Her son arrived at the scene shortly after the accident.

The police is currently investigating this issue.
