Some kids’ playground slides in Admiralty are NOT for adults, may cause injuries if not careful

There has been a lot of hype over the newly revamped Admiralty Park that is home to Singapore’s longest and tallest tube slide in public park.

On Tuesday, a 24-year-old woman suffered injuries on her head, shoulders and calf after she was thrown out of one of the longest slides.

The slide is 23m-long and 9m-tall. There are two of these slides in the park.

Her adult sister also suffered bruises on her feet after trying out the slide.

Semec, the supplier of the playground equipment, said that a heavier weight will lead to a faster speed and a bigger build is more likely to bump against the sides of the slides.

Out of the 26 slides in the park, some slides are meant for kids only. Adults are encouraged not to slide down for their own safety.

Parents can check out the family swing that adults and toddlers can enjoy together. There is also a family slide which four people can slide down together.

Do read the safety guidelines before unleashing the child in you.
