Veteran Hong Kong actor Benz Hui (许绍雄), affectionately known as Benz雄, has passed away at the age of 76. His family confirmed that he died early this morning from multiple organ failure caused by cancer.
Hui was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital in Happy Valley after his condition worsened. Many of his close friends from the entertainment industry, including Michael Miu, Jamie Chik, Dayo Wong, and Mak Cheung Ching, were seen rushing to the hospital to visit him.
His goddaughter and long-time co-star Charmaine Sheh, who was in Macau for an event, reportedly broke down in tears during an interview when asked about Hui’s condition and had to stop midway. She cancelled her planned work trip to Beijing and immediately returned to Hong Kong to see him.
Known for his humility and decades of dedication to acting, Hui was regarded as one of Hong Kong’s most beloved veteran stars. He was best remembered for his portrayal of Foon Hei Gor (Brother Foon Hei) in the hit TVB drama Line Walker (2014–2020), a role that cemented his reputation as a household name.
In recent years, Hui moved to Singapore with his family to enjoy a quieter, semi-retired life.
He reportedly invested millions to support his daughter Charmaine Hui in opening cafés and bakeries here, before later returning to Hong Kong to be closer to her after she got married.
“失去了一个大好人,很伤心 😢

Deepest condolences to the family.”
Rest in Peace, Benz雄! ![]()
