‘Former Disciple’ Ian Fang Jailed 40 Months for Sexual Offence Against 15-Year-Old Girl – Christopher Lee Disappointed and ‘At a Loss for Words’

35-year-old former Mediacorp actor Ian Fang was suspected of committing sexual offences against a girl under 16, causing her to contract a virus. He also instructed the girl to cry and beg her mother not to press charges against him. Fang pleaded guilty yesterday (19 May) and was sentenced to 40 months in prison.

Fang once addressed Christopher Lee as “Shifu” (master), and the two had a close relationship. Lee, when contacted, responded with a tone of disappointment: “I don’t know what to say,” and was unwilling to say more.

The two had played father and son in the 2012 drama Unriddle 2, and later developed a mentor-disciple relationship. Fang also revealed that Lee took good care of him both in his acting career and in life.

However, when Fang appeared on the online program “Rise ‘n Shine” last year, he personally revealed the reason he no longer called Christopher Lee “Shifu” (Master), but instead addressed him as “Big Brother.”

He said: “I’ve disappointed him several times. Although he never said it, I could feel it. Especially after that incident in 2019 (the explicit messages), when he saw me outside the Mediacorp building, he called me over (gave me a kick) and gave me a scolding.”
