Malaysian woman Alice Chang has made headlines once again, this time by claiming that she is pregnant with a child while also asserting that she is involved in a stable relationship with a married ‘Datuk Seri’ in Malaysia.
Although she did not reveal the identity of the child’s father, the title, “Datuk Seri” refers to those who have made a significant contribution to Malaysia, according to Mothership.
Alice Chang was infamous for her social media take by kissing a pretzel dough at Auntie Anne’s. This sparked more controversies when she tried to work at Cold Stone Creamery and was fired from Nando’s on her first day there for violating the company’s policy.
This unexpected news by Alice Chang was first announced during a court hearing where she was accompanying her elder sister, Adeline Chang, who was facing charges for allegedly posting a photo of a minor online in May 2024. Adeline had referred to the minor as “an illegitimate child” in the photo caption, leading to a fine of RM7,000 (S$2,134) after pleading guilty.
During the court appearance, Alice mentioned that the reason for her sister’s presence in court was due to false accusations made by a private individual, insinuating that the dispute stemmed from issues with the child’s mother.
Adeline, in her defence, stated that the controversy arose when the mother failed to compensate her appropriately after a live-streaming session.
Additionally, Adeline admitted to her mistake in posting the child’s photo and expressed her newfound awareness that it is sometimes necessary to make concessions, even if it means facing losses.
She offered gratitude to her family, particularly Alice, who paid her fine, and her lawyer, who advocated for a lenient sentence on her behalf. Notably, Adeline’s legal representative emphasized her financial struggles and mentioned her ongoing counselling for a thyroid condition impacting her mental well-being.
