A woman went kisiao (crazy) after getting drunk. Her friends could not stop her and called the police. Despite the police’s interference, the woman still didn’t stop. After making a scene for more than 30 minutes, she was successfully put into a police car.

According to Zaobao, the woman, Peng Kaiwen (literal translation), 21, faces 11 charges, including intentionally injuring civil servants in the performance of their duties, mischief, and obstructing a public servant in the execution of their duties through the use of criminal force.

On Tuesday (13 February), accompanied by his father and boyfriend, she pleaded guilty to five of the charges, and the remaining ones will be considered by the judge when sentencing.

The investigation revealed that on 31 August 2022 at around 11pm, Peng went to a bar in Parklane Shopping Mall to drink with friends and did not leave until about 3am the next morning.

As Peng was heavily intoxicated, her friends had to assist her to a taxi stand outside the mall. Unexpectedly, Peng suddenly became aggressive and started verbally abusing her friends and even kicked one of her friends.

Unable to calm her down, her friends decided to seek help from the police.

Police called in

When the first batch of police officers arrived at the scene, they saw the drunken Peng yelling at her friends, so they stepped forward to try to stop her. However, Peng continued to behave aggressively and spat at one of the police officers.

Eventually, the police arrested her, but on her way to the police car, she kicked the vehicle, causing damage that cost $309 to repair.

As the police officers at the scene were all men, they had to wait for a female police officer to come to support them. While being escorted to the female police officer’s car, Peng suddenly kicked one of the male police officers in the jaw, causing injury.

Even when the female police officer managed to get her into the car, she continued to kick and resist, making it difficult for the officers to secure her.

During the court proceedings, Peng’s lawyer revealed that her mother had unexpectedly left their family a year before the incident, leaving her father burdened with a debt of nearly $50,000.

According to her lawyer, Peng’s father got into debt because he had to work even harder to earn more money to repay the debt, and her mother’s sudden departure had made a significant impact on Peng.

Peng subsequently attempted to start a business, but her business failed. She is currently unemployed and hopes to find a job after she graduates.

Given that Peng was only 20 years old at the time of the incident and had witnessed her parents’ constant fights over money since childhood, hence, her lawyer requested that the judge consider a probationary sentence. The judge ordered a probation assessment, and the final sentencing will take place on 13 March.
