Earlier this month, there was a story about a customer who insisted his food be delivered to his doorstep even after being made aware that the GrabFood delivery rider is handicapped and will have difficulty climbing up the stairs. This one hear liao sure heart pain.
Now, we have another GrabFood delivery rider story but this one is somewhat bittersweet. At least it’s not completely bitter.
Delivery rider left stranded after bike tyre pops
The delivery rider contacted the customer, who explained that he was stranded at an HDB block because his bicycle tyres popped.
The customer was so understanding, he went over to pick up his food from the delivery rider.
Upon meeting the delivery rider, the customer checked to see if he was okay.
The delivery rider offered to pay the customer for helping him with the remaining order but the customer kindly rejected the offer.
The customer explained to the rider that he too works as a delivery rider, so he can empathize with the unforeseen circumstance.
After tying the bags of food onto his motorcycle, the two wished each other well and left.

While handing the order over to the other customer, he explains the reason for the delay.
The second customer bo hew the explanation, instead, he complained that the food was already cold and asked if he could still complain to Grab about the long wait.
His video concluded with a quote, “We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.”
his quote speaks volumes and reminds us that every little help we give can impact someone even if it’s just one person. So before we complain or get angry over a late delivery, let’s empathize with the ordeal our delivery riders had to go through before reaching your doorstep.
