NTUC to provide up to $650 cash relief to eligible Union member drivers and riders

Last month, when the Gahmen announced that they will be giving out additional daily cash to help and support the private-hire car and taxi drivers to tide them through the heightened alert period, a lot of other drivers and riders like the combi bus, limousine and delivery drivers and riders must be feeling sibei sian because they not included and not eligible for the financial assistance.

NTUC U FSE Relief Scheme for delivery riders

Don’t sian, don’t sian! Because NTUC just announced that they will be giving a financial boost to help 13,000 drivers and riders through a one-off cash relief payment!

Under this NTUC U FSE Relief Scheme, which totals up to $4.28 million, eligible drivers and riders who are members of the National Private Hire Vehicles Association (NPHVA) and National Delivery Champions Association (NDCA) will receive a one-time cash relief ranging between $200 to $650.

How to know eligible or not?

Members must be a freelance combi bus, limousine or delivery driver and rider to benefit from the scheme. But if you already received the COVID-19 Driver Relief Fund previously, then sorry ah you not eligible liao.

Combi bus and limousine drivers must also hold a valid vocational license, while eligible delivery drivers and riders must be those who are using petrol-powered vehicles. So if you are using bicycle or kick scooter hor, then paiseh ah, you also not eligible.

Applicants must provide supporting documents such as proof of trade income, vehicle type and self-employed status.

Interested applicants can apply online here, or in-person at Begonia Terrace located at Downtown East. But please note that if you intend to go down to Downtown East in-person to show them your yan dao or chio face, you need to make an appointment in advance here first.

The application period is between 21 June 2021 to 16 July 2021.

What if I not member yet?

You can still sign up for membership now and receive the cash relief!

For NPHVA combi bus and limousine drivers who became members on or before 1 March 2021, you can receive up to $650. For those who joined after will be entitled to $600.

NDCA members with petrol-driven motorcycles can receive up to $250 if they joined become union member on or before 1 March 2021, and $200 if they joined after.

NDCA members using petrol/hybrid cars can receive up to $400 if they joined before 1 March 2021, and $350 for after.
