Three suspects have been arrested on 8 Mar, for staging an armed robbery at a Kopitiam food court in Seng Kang.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) was alerted to the robbery on 3 Mar at 11.50am by an employee of the food court at Rivervale Plaza.
The Kopitiam employee had reported that the unknown man entered the Kopitiam outlet’s office with a knife and made off with S$20,000. The suspected robber was then arrested on 7 Mar.
However, there are several inconsistencies in the employee’s statement after several follow-up investigations.
SPF believed that the Kopitiam staff and another accomplice were in cahoots with the robber.
Investigations are still ongoing.
The suspected robber will be charged with armed robbery. If found guilty, he would face a jail term of between five to 20 years and caning.
