A shocking murder took place at a hotel along South Bridge Road in Chinatown. A 38-year-old Indonesian woman was found dead in a hotel room at Capri by Fraser China Square, and her 41-year-old husband has been arrested after surrendering himself to the police.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, the incident happened on Friday (October 24). It is understood that both the victim and the suspect are from Indonesia and are married to each other.
After allegedly committing the crime, the man left the hotel and walked about one kilometre to the Redhill Neighbourhood Police Post, where he surrendered at around 7.40am on Friday morning.
Police officers later rushed to the hotel and found the woman dead inside one of the rooms.
Preliminary investigations showed that the victim had visible injuries believed to be caused by a sharp weapon.

When reporters arrived at the hotel around 9.30am, everything seemed normal on the surface. Guests were still entering and leaving as usual, although at least three police vehicles were spotted parked at the basement car park.
It was also seen that Deputy Assistant Commissioner Roy Lim, who is the Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Department’s Special Investigation Section, was at the scene to look into the case.
A hotel employee shared that police arrived at about 7.30am but did not reveal which floor the incident took place on.
Police have since confirmed that a 41-year-old man has been arrested. He will be charged in court on Saturday (October 25) for the offence of murder.
