6-year-old boy cried in fear after motorcycle crashed into PMA he was riding with man at Hill Street

A motorised Personal Mobility Aid (PMA) collided with a motorcycle while crossing the road, throwing both riders off and leaving a six-year-old boy crying in fear.

The accident happened last Friday (October 3) at about 10am, along Hill Street towards Victoria Street.

According to photos shared by a netizen known as Missy to STOMP, a red motorcycle and a PMA were seen lying in the middle of the road while several passers-by stepped forward to help.

Missy said that both the motorcycle rider and the PMA rider were thrown off after the collision and were later seen lying on the ground. “A six-year-old boy wearing a yellow shirt stood beside the PMA rider and cried loudly,” she said.

Another video circulating online showed that the road surface was wet when the accident happened. When the traffic light turned green, the motorcycle was moving on the rightmost lane when a PMA suddenly dashed out from the left pavement. The motorcyclist could not avoid in time and crashed into it.

The impact was so strong that both riders were flung off their vehicles. The motorcyclist even landed hard on the ground. Pedestrians waiting at the traffic light quickly went forward to check on them. A boy wearing a yellow shirt, believed to be the PMA rider’s passenger, was seen sitting on the ground and crying in shock.

In response to Shin Min Daily News queries, the police confirmed that the accident involved a motorcycle and a PMA. A 22-year-old male motorcyclist, a 63-year-old male PMA rider, and his six-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital conscious.

Police said the 63-year-old PMA rider is currently assisting with investigations. The case is still under investigation.
