Sengkang-Punggol LRT Train Services Disrupted Due to Power Fault

SBS Transit Provides Free Buses After Power Fault on Sengkang-Punggol LRT
On Friday, August 15, in the morning, a power fault caused major disruptions to the Sengkang-Punggol Light Rail Transit (LRT) train services.
The operator, SBS Transit, announced the disruption in a Facebook post at 8:55 AM, letting commuters know that they might have trouble getting to their destinations.
To help people get around, free regular and bridging bus services were quickly made available. These buses could be found at specific stops near the affected stations, as well as at the Sengkang and Punggol bus interchanges. T
The disruption was quite noticeable for those who were on the trains.
A commuter mentioned that around 8:50 AM, a train at the Punggol LRT station had stopped. The lights inside the train were off, and an electronic sign nearby said that services were temporarily suspended. This was just a few days after another big breakdown on the same LRT line and the North-East Line, so it was an unwelcome bit of déjà vu for many regular riders.
By 10:00 AM, SBS Transit posted another update confirming that passenger service staff were already on the ground to help people. The staff were there to guide commuters and help them find the right places to board the bridging buses.
They also had directional signs set up so people could easily figure out where to go for the buses.
