A van driver was spotted sitting motionless at a traffic junction along Sengkang East Avenue, reportedly trembling uncontrollably in the driver’s seat, raising public concern.
The incident, which has gone viral on Facebook, was shared by user Bart Salleh. According to his post, the van was not moving despite the green light, and the driver appeared to be in distress. Bart initially thought it was a medical emergency and approached to help, even going so far as to switch off the engine to prevent the driver from moving.
However, things quickly took a turn when Bart realised the man might not be suffering from a health issue, but could possibly be under the influence of drugs. He told the surrounding crowd, “This guy is on drugs. Don’t let him move. Call the police.”
Worried that the situation might escalate into violence, Bart left the scene shortly after. He later said he had no sympathy for such behaviour and was glad he left before anything turned ugly.
A photo of the incident, showing the white Ness Xpress van in the middle of the junction with bystanders nearby, was reportedly airdropped to Bart by a passing cyclist, who humorously claimed he had the new “iPhone 16.”
It is unclear whether the police were eventually called or if any arrests were made. However, the post has sparked concern among netizens over drug use and road safety.
