The People’s Power Party (PPP) has launched its manifesto for the upcoming General Election! The first one some more! Cannot wait to show off their homework liao! Heh! Just not too long ago, they introduced their 26-year-old candidate as one of their candidates for the upcoming election.
But hor, after reading their ideas, we got one question: Sure Boh?! They serious or not ah? Here’s what they say they want to do, and what we think about it:
-
Give $300 a month to kids… until they finish Secondary School
PPP say they want to give children from families earning a household income at or below 70% of the population percentile $300 every month for their kids until the child completes secondary school.
Eh, sounds good lah… but who pay ha? Got money fall from sky ah? GST increase liao already KPKB, now want to give monthly allowance nationwide wor! But use semo to pay? Your pigu? Then what’s next, angbao every CNY also from Gahmen?
-
Only traditional marriage can teach kids properly
PPP say they want to protect kids from content that doesn’t follow their definition of “traditional marriage” (i.e. between man and woman).
Like that ah, next time Disney movie also must pass censorship board issit? If got one cartoon penguin with two daddies, PPP maybe will peng san!
-
No GST for fresh food, groceries, water, and healthcare
Sounds good! PPP you the hero of Singaporeans! But hor, PPP also never say how to cover all the government spending if GST removed from so many things. Free lunch still not invented yet leh.
Or is it PPP will invent that for Singaporeans? Lao niang confirm vote you.
-
Foreign workers must pay into MediShield Life
This one not totally siao lah. PPP say all foreign workers should contribute to MediShield Life, so that healthcare more “universal”.
But wait ah, wait. If they contribute, they can claim or not? Must spell out properly how they can claim lah. Arbo later become another hot potato issue again sia.
-
CPF – 20% employer, 5% employee
PPP suggested for the boss to pay more CPF, and the worker pay less. Sounds like confirm vote-winner hor?
But hor, I ask you ah, like that the employer cost go up like that, you think they still want to hire human or not? Would there be a possibility whereby next time you ask for job, the boss tell you, “Sorry ah, I hire robot!”
-
Cannot use CPF to buy first property
In their manifesto, PPP also say that the usage of CPF should only be allowed for the purchase of a second property, which is basically for investment purposes.
Wah mai lai leh! Means CPF cannot be used to buy BTO? Eh bro, don’t let us touch CPF for housing, how to own our first property sia? You think everyone got rich parents sibo?
Now 80% of Singaporeans got their own HDB flats IS because we can use CPF!!!!
-
Foreigners must work or stay here 12 years before they can become citizen
Some people might clap for this one lah. But PPP also say even if you become citizen, you must wait 5 years before you can vote. Wah, vote also need cooldown period ah?
They also want to cap population at 6.5 million. Bro, we already almost 6 million liao. So what now? Close airport ah? Or maybe ask people to ballot for space to breathe?
And hor, if your foreign spouse or cousin still thinking whether to apply PR, better tell them faster run, otherwise gate close liao. Singapore full house soon.
Sorry hor, love won’t win one, at least not under PPP’s watch.
-
Change voting system to “Proportional Representation”
PPP say they want to scrap our current election system and change to proportional representation.
Means what? It means that even if your party lose, you still can get seats in Parliament, just need enough votes. Sounds a bit like “everyone gets a trophy” style. Kindergarten graduation issit?
-
PPP Slogan is “Make Singapore Home Again”
Aiyo, not say we not at home now leh. Lao Niang now comfortable sitting at home on my sofa shake leg reading your manifesto until my toes also laughing. Lao Niang now got roof over my beautiful head, got food, got bubble tea. What home you talking about wor? The home as in 老人院, the old folks home that home ah?
In his Facebook post, Goh Meng Seng said: “Running Singapore is not a game of cards. It’s your life and our lives”.
Wow, good you know leh! Please ni hor ah Seng, you don’t play and make Singaporeans blur leh. Go and play your Pokémon GO ok? Guai.
