A multi-car accident on the East Coast Parkway (ECP) sent four individuals to Raffles Hospital in Singapore. The accident on October 3rd involved multiple vehicles and caused significant traffic disruptions along the expressway that goes to Changi Airport, right after the Fort Road exit.
According to MS NEWS, they say that the accident was reported at approximately 5:20 pm by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), prompting emergency response teams to intervene. Concurrently, the Land Transport Authority issued a traffic advisory via social media around 5:30 pm, warning of congestion from the Tanjong Katong Road exit to the Fort Road exit due to the accident. All drivers and motorists are advised to avoid the first two lanes of the ECP to facilitate rescue operations and traffic management.
A lot of people captured the car crash moment, sharing videos on social media platforms depicting a scene of chaos. Three taxis and five cars were involved in the accident, with a picture showing how the accident happened. Many cars were stacked on top of each other, with two cars visibly perched at the top of the vehicular heap. A red taxi with a heavily damaged front bumper and hood was seen, its doors flung open, while a black car behind it bore a crushed hood, illustrating the force of the crash.
The Emergency Services deployed tow trucks to the site to clear the wreckage and facilitate the reopening of affected lanes. Traffic cones were set up to cordon off the impacted area, allowing for the safe and efficient removal of the vehicles involved.
