Several chat groups suspected of offering sexual services have appeared on social media platforms, with women dressed in revealing clothes flooding the chats with advertisements to attract customers. Some even listed services such as “prostate care” and “grabbing” in their posts.

Previously, Shin Min Daily News reported a case where a woman discovered her husband had gotten involved with a massage lady. To expose the massage parlour, she even asked a friend to go undercover to gather evidence.
After the report was published, another reader, Ms Guo (37, administrative staff), also came forward to share her experience with Shin Min Daily News. She said that on platforms like Telegram and TikTok, she found many chat groups that seemed to be “hanging a sheep’s head but selling dog meat”, pretending to offer regular massage services while secretly promoting sexual ones.
She recalled discovering last August that her husband had joined one of these chat groups.
“When I confronted him, he said he didn’t go to look for any massage lady and just joined the group out of curiosity. But I felt disrespected,” she said.
Ms Guo shared that some of her friends also had marriage problems because of such massage ladies, with some even ending in divorce. She added that she worries these groups could negatively influence young people who might come across them online.
“I’ve made a police report and also reported the matter to the platforms, but nothing seems to change. It’s really frustrating,” she said.
Over 20,000 members in some groups
When reporters searched on different platforms, they found more than 10 similar chat groups. Some had more than 20,000 members.
Most of these groups have been around for only a few months, though a few have lasted more than a year. Every time one group gets deleted, someone else quickly creates a new one and invites the old members to join again, making it hard to completely stop.
In these groups, people upload photos of women dressed in sexy outfits and advertise services like massages, ear-cleaning, and Thai-style massages. Many also include flirty messages such as “gentle and obedient,” “can give you a girlfriend experience,” and “be my baby and let me spoil you.”
Some of them even openly list “prostate care” and “grabbing” as part of their services.
Lawyer: Offenders face heavy penalties
Commenting on this issue, lawyer Mr Cory Wong from Invictus Law said that under Section 146A(1) of the Penal Code, anyone, whether in or outside Singapore, who uses remote communication services connected to Singapore to promote or help women provide paid sexual services, or to organise, manage, or supervise such activities, can be fined up to $100,000, jailed for up to five years, or both.
Repeat offenders can be fined up to $150,000, jailed for up to seven years, or both.
