JJ Lin surprises fans with rare bathrobe livestream, deletes video after going viral on Weibo

Golden Melody Award-winning singer JJ Lin gave fans an unexpected treat on Sunday (October 13) when he suddenly went live on social media. The casual livestream quickly drew thousands of viewers as the home-grown singer appeared in a white bathrobe, chatting with fans while enjoying his meal.

Without his usual celebrity image, JJ appeared completely relaxed and down-to-earth. But soon after the livestream ended, he deleted the video, although that didn’t stop it from spreading online.

His rare “bathrobe look” quickly sent the term “JJ Lin bathrobe” trending on Weibo, causing a frenzy among fans.

Fans flooded the comments with reactions like “This livestream felt so real!” and “The bathrobe livestream is pure fan service!” Some even joked that JJ should use the bathrobe photo as the cover for his next album. Others begged him to do more of such casual livestreams, with one fan saying, “Please go live like this more often!”

Earlier this year, JJ shared on the final day of his nine-day concert series at Beijing’s National Stadium that he had been diagnosed with a heart condition and had been relying on medication for the past year to manage his health. Although he has slowed down his work schedule, JJ recently flew from Singapore to Nanjing to attend singer Han Hong’s birthday concert and personally deliver his wishes.

JJ said emotionally, “She has always looked after me like an elder sister. Two years ago, I celebrated her birthday during my JJ20 concert in Beijing, and this year, I came to her ‘I Want to Be You’ concert in Nanjing.”

His heartfelt words showed the close friendship the two have shared for over 20 years.
