A 24-year-old woman agreed to provide sexual services for $400 but ended up cheating her client and later extorting more than $8,000 from him in just three days. To pull this off, she even pretended to be her own brother.
The woman, Zhang Weiqian (transliteration), appeared in court yesterday with her father. With her short hair and androgynous look, she admitted to one charge of cheating and was sentenced to 11 months in jail, reported Shin Min Daily News.
The case began in late March last year, when a 51-year-old man came across her profile on the online platforms “Sugar Daddy” and “Sugar Baby.” He contacted her, and they agreed that he would pay $400 for sexual services.
On April 4 at about 10 pm, she went to his home. After drinking a glass of Coke, she claimed she was on her period and could not provide the service. The man gave her $150 for her time.
The next evening, she contacted him again, saying she had lost the $150 and wanted more money because she was going out to party. The man agreed and transferred $200 to her.
In the following days, she kept asking him for money, but he refused. On April 8 and 9, she used another phone number to pretend to be her own brother and sent the man threatening text messages.
As her “brother,” she claimed she was only 17 years old, accused the man of trying to sleep with a minor, and threatened to cause trouble at his home. She also warned that their chat history would be posted online if he did not pay.
Frightened by these threats, the man transferred a total of $8,100 to her over three days. Eventually, worried that the harassment would never end, he decided to make a police report, which exposed her crimes.
