A Facebook post by the husband of the so-called “office wife” has gone viral, dragging the BMW doctor into the spotlight.
The post, together with a video, sparked heated discussions online. Netizens even gave cheeky nicknames like “the little bird who relies on someone” and “the little bird doctor.” Soon after, the BMW doctor’s identity was also exposed.
When the video first spread, the BMW doctor quickly deleted everything from the internet and seemed to vanish.
BMW doctor apologises
However, a few hours later, the doctor created a new account to clarify and apologise for the incident.
In his first post, he said that he and his family have been facing threats and cyberbullying, with false and harmful content being spread without his consent. This included his photos, as well as those of his family, friends, organisations he was part of, and even his phone number.
He has since lodged a police report and reserved his right to take legal action under Malaysian law against anyone who misuses his personal data, spreads defamatory content, or harasses his family.
He also apologised for the unnecessary public concern and waste of resources, stressing that this is a personal matter unrelated to any organisation, association, friends, or family.
Later, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Kota Bharu, a global youth organisation for 18 to 40-year-olds focusing on leadership and skills development, announced that Dr Wong Lu Yang, who was set to be the 2025 President, has been immediately suspended. His duties will now be taken over by the 2024 President, Mr Tan Zhi Qian.
The organisation made it clear that this incident is purely a personal matter and has nothing to do with JCI Kota Bharu’s mission, values, or activities. They also said they will not tolerate any behaviour that goes against their values and code of conduct, and will take strict action accordingly.
They also called for all attacks and malicious comments to stop immediately, saying that such behaviour goes against the spirit of volunteerism and social service.
BMW doctor claims to have been blackmailed
In another Facebook post, the BMW doctor said that he and his family had already prepared themselves two to three months ago when they refused to give in to blackmail attempts.
He emphasised that they are fine, but admitted that he feels guilty and heartbroken that his wife had to suffer a second time. He also publicly apologised to her again.
He insists that everything happened three months ago and that he and his wife are fine now.
But with the timing of the leak and even more damning videos surfacing, many netizens are questioning: could there be more to the story than what he claims?
