Taiwanese singer-songwriter Eli Hsieh, 29, rose to fame from season one of “One Million Star” (超级星光大道) and has won multiple awards, including the Golden Melody Best New Artist for his album “Charlie Progress Reports”. However, in recent years, he has repeatedly made headlines due to controversies.
Early last year, he was arrested after allegedly attempting to stab his ex-girlfriend on the street. Security guards managed to pin him down before anyone was seriously hurt. Police later sent him to the hospital in an ambulance. Since then, he has rarely appeared in public.
Now, news has surfaced that Eli is missing, causing his fans to worry.
Musician Fan Yang-jing made an urgent post late last night: “If anyone sees singer-songwriter Eli Hsieh, please contact me immediately! Many people are looking for him, thank you!” The post quickly spread online, sparking further concern.
Eli had previously made the news due to his mental health struggles. After some rest, he resurfaced in March this year to promote his concert, saying he was stable and under control.
At that time, he also admitted to poor financial management and confirmed he had borrowed from loan sharks, owing up to NT$600,000 (about ~S$25347.014). Fortunately, Golden Melody producer George Chen stepped in to help him pay off the debt.
But with the latest news of him going missing, Eli’s situation has once again become a hot topic of discussion.
