The quiet neighbourhood of Woodlands was thrown into chaos on Wednesday (21 May) when a BlueSG car careened into an HDB block, leaving behind a trail of destruction.
Photos of the aftermath of the crash shared on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page, captured the harrowing scene as the electric car ended up wedged across the middle of the pavement after mounting the kerb and colliding with a pillar of the block.
The impact of the crash was severe, with the vehicle bearing a huge dent in its bonnet, a folded-up hood, and a partially detached bumper. The force of the collision also caused the windscreen to shatter and the airbags to deploy, painting a picture of the sheer force involved in the accident.
The authorities swiftly responded to the situation, with the Singapore Police Force (SPF) confirming that they were alerted to the incident at around 5 pm on the fateful day.
According to SPF, the car was believed to have self-skidded along the service road at Blk 788C Woodlands Crescent. Miraculously, no injuries were reported from the accident, providing a glimmer of relief amid the chaotic turn of events.
However, the plot thickened as it emerged that the driver of the BlueSG car had absconded from the scene, leaving the authorities with the daunting task of tracing the individual in question.
In response to this turn of events, SPF has launched a comprehensive effort to locate the driver, with ongoing police investigations seeking to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the crash.
