After Quan Yifeng’s emotional interview with Lianhe Zaobao about her fallout with Addy Lee went viral, the celebrity hairstylist has fired back. This time with screenshots and a direct message of his own.
In a Facebook post on May 15, Addy questioned Quan’s version of events and teased a livestream response scheduled for the same night between 8:30pm and 9:00pm.
In his post, Addy wrote:
“忘恩负义你回复联合早报我现在也来回复你… 我只用半小时时间讲和Q&A”
(Translation: “You responded to Zaobao, now it’s my turn… I only need 30 minutes to talk and answer questions.”)
He also pointed out the timeline of Quan’s actions:
“为何你要走?走了又去开直播才播?为什么?”
(“Why did you leave, only to go live yourself later? Why?”)
Screenshots Show Addy’s Heartfelt Text to Quan
Alongside his post, Addy included a two-part WeChat message he claimed to have sent to Quan.
In the messages, he addressed her as “Sis” and expressed emotional distress over how their friendship had deteriorated. He described feeling helpless and humiliated:
“我50岁从来没有给人这么当众侮辱… 我一直当家人的这样对我。”
(“In my 50 years, I’ve never been so publicly humiliated. I’ve always treated you like family.”)
He went on to say he had lost sleep trying to do his best and felt hurt when Quan shut him out during their final livestream session.
“你有沒有想过我的感受… 我还是会认情的人。”
(“Have you ever thought about how I felt? I’m still someone who values relationships.”)
Never Wanted to Harm Quan or Quan’s Family
In a final line from his message, Addy defended his character:
“我不会骗到这样来伤害你们,我也不会来害你们家人。”
(“I wouldn’t stoop so low to harm you or your family.”)
He ended by promising to address questions from followers during his upcoming livestream, including why Quan left, why she went live afterwards, and why she stopped replying to him altogether.
What’s Next?
With both parties now publicly airing their sides of the story, netizens are closely watching how this celebrity friendship-turned-feud will unfold.
Addy’s post has already drawn thousands of views, and tonight’s livestream is expected to draw even more, especially from those who want to hear his side directly.
One thing’s for sure: this saga is far from over.
You may read Addy’s heartfelt text to Quan below:
Sis,
I don’t really know how to write or say this properly. From the very start of building this platform with you, there were already too many things going on. Every time you gave instructions, I just followed. Whatever you said, I did. However I could accommodate you, I did.
Just one word from you would already make me anxious. I felt uneasy. Ever since you told me the second time how things should be done, and chose to go into the room to do it on your own, I felt even more troubled. I didn’t dare to say much. I’ve been losing sleep, always trying to do better.
Then last night, you confronted me like that — have you ever thought about how I felt? The moment I walked into the room, my tears started falling immediately. I broke down and cried on the spot.
In my 50 years of life, I’ve never been humiliated like this before — especially not by someone I’ve always treated like family.
I really don’t know what to say or do anymore. I spent my time talking to suppliers, trying to improve everything. But even so, I couldn’t meet your expectations.
Lastly, I want to tell you — I would never stoop so low as to harm you like this. And I would never hurt your family. I’m still someone who values relationships.
