The five-member team includes a new face, Diana Pang (51); Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim (57), Minister of State for Home Affairs and National Development and former MP for Nee Soon GRC; as well as Tin Pei Ling (42), former MP for MacPherson SMC, which has now been absorbed into this GRC after the boundary redraw.

As for the two other former MPs of the original Marine Parade GRC, Speaker of Parliament Seah Kian Peng (64) will stay on, while Mayor of South East District Mohd Fahmi Aliman (55) will not be contesting in this GRC.

PAP introduced its slate for Marine Parade–Braddell Heights GRC and Mountbatten SMC on Sunday (April 20) at the party’s Marine Parade branch.

Under the revised electoral boundaries, MacPherson SMC has been absorbed into the new Marine Parade–Braddell Heights GRC. The Joo Chiat division, previously under Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law Edwin Tong, has been moved into East Coast GRC.

The only new face in the team, Diana Pang, has served for more that two decades at the PAP’s Fengshan Branch, where she has held key leadership roles including branch treasurer and Women’s Wing chair, advocating for families, women, and the heartland community.

She is a director of a local small- and medium-sized enterprise, overseeing company performance, leads infrastructure projects, and implements employee-focused workplace policies. With 20 years of experience working alongside families, women and caregivers focusing on issues of health, mental wellness and women development, she shared during her introduction speech on Sunday:

“I hope to be a voice, not just to listen, but I also will act on it.”

Faishal Ibrahim had earlier announced he would be contesting in Marine Parade–Braddell Heights GRC, and will be in charge of the Kembangan–Chai Chee division. He was first elected as an MP in Marine Parade GRC in 2006, serving in Bukit Gombak division. In 2011, he was moved to Nee Soon GRC, where he was re-elected twice.

Marine Parade–Braddell Heights GRC has 131,493 voters, making it the smallest of the five-member GRCs. Opposition parties active in this area include the Workers’ Party.

As for Mountbatten SMC, long-time four-term MP Lim Biow Chuan, who has served in the ward for nearly 20 years, will not be contesting. He will be replaced by Goh Sze Kee (46), a lawyer.
