The People’s Action Party (PAP) has officially introduced its team for Aljunied GRC — and out of the five potential candidates, four will be running for the first time.

At the team introduction event on Sunday (13 April), PAP confirmed the five candidates, who had already made earlier appearances on the ground. They are:

  • Chan Hui Yuh (48), a construction professional

  • Jagathishwaran Rajo (37), unionist

  • Adrian Ang (43), company director

  • Daniel Liu (40), managing director of urban planning consultancy

  • Faisal Abdul Aziz (37), dental surgeon

All four of them are first-time candidates, other than Chan Hui Yuh, who previously contested in Aljunied during the 2020 General Election.

The PAP team in Aljunied saw a major renewal in February this year. Adrian Ang, Daniel Liu, and Faisal Abdul Aziz took over as branch chairs for Bedok Reservoir–Punggol, Paya Lebar, and Kaki Bukit respectively.

Jagathishwaran took over as the party’s Eunos branch chairman in August last year.

The Workers’ Party has held Aljunied GRC since 2011, and in the 2020 General Election, won with 59.95% of the vote.

This is PAP’s second round of candidate introductions over the weekend.

PAP Assistant Secretary-General and Education Minister Chan Chun Sing, along with former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Lim Boon Heng, were also present at the event.
