Mediacorp LOVE 972 recently dropped a hilarious parody of the drama series 《小娘惹之珍珠山》 (Pearl Hill – The Little Nyonya Story) — featuring their DJs as the main characters. Yes, you read that right.
Zhang family got vacancy for more sisters?
In the post published on Apr. 10, LOVE 972 wrote:
“张家还需要多几个姐妹吗？我们要申请～
《小娘惹之珍珠山》即将来袭，敬请期待 😉”
Translation: “Does the Zhang family need more sisters? We’d like to apply~ ‘Pearl Hill – The Little Nyonya Story’ is coming soon, stay tuned 😉”
The top half of the image shows three DJs dramatically styled in old-school Peranakan outfits, recreating the mood of a historical drama.
The bottom half? The original drama cast.
And yes — the resemblance is uncanny… or just very dedicated.
Netizens: “This one more like horror movie”
Facebook users were living for the transformation, flooding the comments with laughs and creative takes of their own.
One user, Dennis ZX, cheekily renamed the whole production:
“Horror movie. 鬼娘惹之光明山”
(“Kong Meng San – Ghost Nyonya”)
Another commenter, Kesmond Chia, echoed the sentiment:

For those unfamiliar, Kong Meng San (光明山) refers to Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, which operates one of Singapore’s only two private crematoria — the other being Tse Toh Aum Temple. So yes, calling the parody a horror movie set in Kong Meng San is both darkly funny and very Singaporean.
