Former Civil Servant Goh Hanyan Makes Public Appearance in Nee Soon GRC

Former Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) director, Ms. Goh Hanyan, has appeared in Nee Soon GRC.

On April 7th, she was seen at a Meet-the-People Session at the PAP’s Nee Soon Central branch, alongside Law and Home Affairs Minister K. Shanmugam, who praised her experience, stating, “She will be a very good MP wherever she goes if elected.”

Mr Shanmugam highlighted Ms Goh’s extensive 16-year career in the civil service, emphasizing her work with US multinational corporations (MNCs) and her role in the Economic Development Board (EDB), including her tenure in Washington.

He commended her proficiency in handling economic matters, mentioning her contributions to job creation and Singapore’s appeal to investors.

Having served as a director in the Smart Nation Strategy Office and the national artificial intelligence group at MDDI, Ms. Goh expressed her eagerness to serve the community in Nee Soon, revealing her background in policy design and implementation. She stated, “I’m very much looking forward to more opportunities to serve the residents here and to work with the residents in the community.”

The Meet-the-People Session also featured other political figures, such as Mr Jackson Lam and former Nee Soon South MP Lee Bee Wah, who was present as a mentor. Minister of State Faishal Ibrahim’s potential move out of Nee Soon GRC remains uncertain, as confirmed by Mr Shanmugam.

Additionally, former nominated MP Syed Harun Alhabsyi was seen at community events, hinting at his potential involvement.
