Suspect Arrested in Connection with People’s Park Complex Attack

Police Investigate Chinatown Attack at People's Park Complex

On the evening of March 19th, a violent incident unfolded at the People’s Park Complex in Chinatown, resulting in injuries to three individuals. Details of the attack emerged as police cordoned off the area around a food stall on the mall’s first floor.

The scene was described as chaotic, with bloodstains on the floor and police officers removing potential weapons from the premises.

According to 8world News, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call for assistance around 8:50 pm that evening. Prompted by the distressing scene, two men, aged 30 and 41, were conveyed to the Singapore General Hospital. Additionally, a 42-year-old man who sustained minor injuries declined hospitalization.

The gravity of the situation became evident as a 37-year-old woman was apprehended in connection with the incident. The authorities suspect her involvement in causing hurt with a dangerous weapon. It was also revealed that the assailant and the victims were not acquainted with each other.

A witness, speaking on the condition of anonymity, gave a chilling account of the incident, saying, “It was like watching a madman going around stabbing people with a knife.”

When reporters got to the scene, the front of the stall and the alley beyond it were cordoned off.

The floor near the counter was stained with blood, some of which were covered with paper towels.

Plastic bags, foot container lids and cardboard boxes were scattered all over the floor.

A middle-aged man was seen with a police officer in the shop, pointing to the blood stains as he spoke.

Police said investigations are ongoing.
