A 70-year-old male motorcyclist lost his life after being rear-ended by a 30-year-old female driver, resulting in devastating consequences that could have been avoided.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were alerted to the collision around 4:40pm on Saturday.

Despite efforts to save him, the motorcyclist was conveyed unconscious to Changi General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The female driver, responsible for the accident, was arrested for careless driving without due care and attention causing hurt, as investigations by the authorities continued to unfold.

According to the footage shared on Facebook, the motorcyclist was traveling at a slow speed towards the rightmost lane, abiding by the traffic light that was red.

However, the female driver showed no signs of stopping and continued to travel at a high speed along the rightmost lane, leading to a disastrous collision that resulted in the motorcyclist being flung into the air.

The aftermath of the collision depicted a tragic scene, with the motorcyclist’s vehicle lying on its side as concerned bystanders and paramedics rushed to attend to the victim.

This unfortunate incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible driving habits. The loss of a precious life due to a moment of reckless driving highlights the need for vigilance and respect for traffic laws.
