The recent islandwide operation conducted by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) resulted in the arrest of 76 individuals suspected of drug-related offenses, shedding light on the alarming prevalence of drug activities in various parts of Singapore.

Among those apprehended was a mother of three young children, highlighting the unfortunate reality of drugs infiltrating homes and putting innocent lives at risk.

According to CNB’s findings, the children of the arrested mother, aged 12 and 14, were present during the raid and exposed to drug paraphernalia left openly in their home.

CNB expressed deep concern, stating, “The home should have been a place of safety for young children. No child should be exposed to such dangers.” The rescue of the children and their placement in the care of their next-of-kin underscores the gravity of the situation.

During the operation, substances including heroin, Ice, cannabis, ketamine, ecstasy, and Erimin-5 tablets were confiscated, valued at over S$97,800. This underscores the significant impact of CNB’s efforts in curbing the drug trade and protecting the community from the dangers of illicit substances.

The arrests of individuals involved in drug trafficking, including attempts to evade capture, further highlight the determination of law enforcement to uphold anti-drug laws and safeguard public welfare.

As investigations into the arrested suspects continue, it is crucial for authorities to remain vigilant and proactive in combating drug-related activities to ensure the safety and well-being of communities. The CNB’s unwavering commitment to maintaining a drug-free society is evident through its relentless pursuit of justice and enforcement of strict penalties against those found guilty of drug offenses.
