In Clementi, a 50-year-old man was taken into custody following the passing of a 41-year-old man discovered unresponsive at a Housing and Development Board (HDB) void deck in Clementi. The authorities were notified about the incident on Clementi Avenue 4 at 5 pm.
The victim, aged 41, was hurried to a hospital while unconscious but, unfortunately, did not survive. Initial inquiries indicate that both parties were acquainted with each other.
According to CNA, a distress call was made to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) at Block 311B Clementi Avenue 4 at around 5 pm. This block is a component of Trivelis, an HDB project developed under the Design, Build, and Sell Scheme (DBSS).
Witnesses claimed they heard screams at the location. Ms. Corina Sim, who lives in Block 311C nearby, recounted disturbing incidents she witnessed, such as a woman calling for medical help and a man pursuing someone else.
People noticed efforts to perform CPR on the injured man, as well as a large group of police and SCDF personnel at the scene.
The unfortunate event prompted Member of Parliament Sim Ann to offer her sympathies and ask for privacy for the victim’s family in this difficult period. The culprit has been captured, and inquiries are still in progress.
Authorities kept the zone sealed off while they collected evidence and carried out additional searches. The community was profoundly startled by the incident, leading to a plea for unity and assistance in this difficult period.
The area remained cordoned off as authorities continued to gather evidence and conduct further searches.
