NTUC FairPrice starts selling eggs from Brunei eggs at $3.20 for pack of 10

Egg-cellent news for egg lovers! Tia gong now hor NTUC FairPrice supermarkets are now carrying eggs imported from a new source, which is Brunei!

According to a press release by FairPrice Group on 21 February, this new additional source of eggs also means that now NTUC FairPrice offers over 60 options of egg products!

All these egg products come from various local farms and also overseas producers. In case you kaypoh and want to know which are the countries supplying eggs to Singapore hor, it includes Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Ukraine, Poland, and Denmark.

Price at $3.20 for a pack of 10 eggs

The Brunei eggs are priced at $3.20 for a pack of 10, and they will be available across 68 FairPrice supermarkets, FairPrice Finest, and FairPrice Xtra hypermarkets located islandwide.

The eggs will be progressively introduced to more stores.

Mr Sng Kaijun, Director of Dasoon Eggs said, “We believe Brunei Eggs will have a similar taste and quality as compared to Malaysia and Singapore as they are closer geographically. We are looking forward to a positive uptake and response of Brunei Eggs at FairPrice.”

A move to enhance food resilience and security

Diversification of food supply sources is key to food security as Singapore imports the bulk of its food supply, said FairPrice in their press release.

Highlighting some of the recent disruptions to egg supply, such as the ongoing pandemic and war in Ukraine, FairPrice added that they are constantly looking to strengthen and widen its network of suppliers across the globe and currently imports from over 100 countries so that it may draw from a diversified source of food to boost food resilience.
