You know what kind of friends you shouldn’t make? The kind that help you buy 4D, and when you win liao, they refused to give you back the winning ticket.

On 16 January, a woman in Singapore took to a closed Facebook group, “新加坡工作 Jobs in Singapore SG”, where she shared her very unfortunate story.

According to the woman, she claimed that the incident occurred to a colleague of hers, who had supposedly won more than $200,000 after buying 4D.

But the suay thing is, she didn’t get the money.

In the post, the netizen wrote that her colleague usually will buy 4D herself, but suay suay, she missed the chance to do so one day and so she asked one of her friends to help her buy.

Later she found out that she won more than $200,000, which is a sibei huge sum considering that she only makes $2,000 or so a month. Of course, she was over the moon lah! She then promised to buy all her colleagues dinner, and even want to split some of the winnings with them. Sibei generous leh!

However, things took a turn for the worse when her friend who helped her buy 4D refused to pass the winning ticket to her. That friend even went to block her contact, cutting all ties with her.

Her colleagues who knew about it then suggest she gather evidence and lodge a police report.

She agreed and went to the police with text conversations, betting instructions, PayNow transactions, and a photo of the winning ticket.

Even though all the evidence was presented hor, the police allegedly said that they can’t intervene as this was a private agreement.

After the police said that they couldn’t help, the woman reached out to Singapore Pools directly. But unfortunately, Singapore Pools told her that they would pay out the prize money regardless of who presented the ticket. Singapore Pools also told the woman to contact the police instead.

Later, in an update on the post, the woman said that she is currently looking for a debt collector to help her get back her prize money back.

Aiyo, next time just use the online betting system to place your bets lah. No need to ask other people help you buy. Just go to the Singapore Pools website, create an account, get yourself verified and gao dim! So easy~ Don’t even need to queue up!
