If you think Singapore is the only “fine” country in the world, then you might be very wrong because one Aussie chiobu just kena slapped with an AUD 2,664 (about SGD 2,532) fine for bringing a half-eaten Subway sandwich into Australia!

According to Jessica Lee, a young girl from Perth, Australia, she was fined because she entered Australia with a half-eaten Subway sandwich that she had bought from Singapore’s airport.

In her TikTok video which has since garnered more than 738.3k views, she shared that she was fined because she did not declare two ingredients in the sandwich, which are chicken and lettuce.

The 19-year-old shared in the 1-minute-and-20-second long video that she had bought a foot-long Subway sandwich when she was transferring at Singapore airport as she was hungry from her 11-hour flight. She ate half of it before her next connecting flight and dabao the remainder for her flight back to Australia.

However, she did not finish her sandwich on the flight. And when she entered Australia, she was caught by the authorities for not declaring the two ingredients in the sandwich, which landed her with a hefty fine of SGD 2,532.

She also shared that she tried explaining that she was under the impression that the form was for carry-ons and luggage, however, she was still issued the fine.
