A 26-year-old part-time security officer for 1-Altitude fell into a construction manhole on the roof of One Raffles Place and died on 9 Jun.

The man was found lying motionless inside the construction manhole and subsequently pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

The police were notified at 1.26am on Sunday and had classified it as unnatural death. Investigations are still ongoing.

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) was also informed and has opened an investigation into the case. The ministry said that the man had fallen into a four-metre deep pit in an area cordoned off for exterior building cleaning works.

All exterior cleaning works have since been stopped, it added.

1-Altitude’s Rooftop Bar will temporarily be closed to help facilitate police investigations; the management noted.
