The tripartite body announced on 25 Mar that members of the public could share their views on wage and employment issues with the National Wages Council (NWC) until 15 Apr.

The tripartite group, comprising representatives from the three social partners – the employers, the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the Government was formed in February 1972 as a tripartite advisory body on wage adjustments. Prior to its establishment, wage adjustments were negotiated according to the bargaining power of trade unions and management. This informal arrangement gave rise to industrial disputes and strikes

The NWC will consider feedback from the public as part of its deliberations on wage recommendations. Other factors such as Singapore’s economic competitiveness, labor market conditions, inflation, and productivity growth will be taken into account as well.

Members of the public can feedback via email at nwc_secretariat@mom.gov.sg or send to the secretariat through the mail.

Now if you all got suggestions or comments, faster send in. Don’t say never give you chance voice out your opinions ah.
