On 24 Mar, a Singaporean man, who is in the 30s, was arrested by Malaysian authorities for staging his kidnap. The man’s plan was exposed after police arrested 12 other suspects involved in a scam.

A group of men has supposedly abducted the Singaporean in the Setia Indah area on 8 Mar. The “kidnappers” demanded the first ransom of RM500,000 (S$166,203) and were paid by the man’s family. The man’s wife, 33, did not immediately lodge a police report.

She only made a police report after the family paid off the second ransom of RM170,000 (S$56,509) to the “kidnappers.” However, the Singaporean man was not released either.

The police then raided the premises in Stulang the same day, rescuing the man and arresting six people. Four more men were later arrested in Bandar Penawar and two others in Kluang.

It subsequently revealed that the Singaporean man and his wife had staged the whole incident to get money from his family, Johor Police chief Khalil Kader said.

The Singaporean man has been arrested while the wife is still at large.

Waa seh, Singapore version of “Gone Girl.” Anyway, the movie really not bad, you all should watch it.
