BTO balloting time to be reduced; BTO projects to be released earlier

BTO

Potential home buyers will soon be able to get more information about the built-to-order (BTO) projects six months in advance, instead of three so that they can plan their purchases.

The Housing Development Board (HDB) will also shorten the waiting time for applicants to receive their ballot results, from six weeks to three.

Minister of National Development Lawrence Wong announced on 7 Mar with the aim to keep housing affordable and accessible for all in the long run. Both changes will apply from the May sales exercise onwards, he added.

This means that in May, buyers would already know the details of the upcoming projects that will be launching in August and November.

Not bad ah, more and more efficient. Good news eh, but limpei got no one to share with. #lonelyboy92
