conditionSingapore actor Aloysius Pang, who was seriously injured in an overseas military exercise in New Zealand, is now in a critical condition, the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) said in a statement on 23 Jan.

Pang was on reservist training when the accident happened on 19 Jan. The actor’s abdomen and chest were supposedly “pinned by something” while carrying out repair works inside a Singapore Self-propelled Howitzer.

He then underwent abdominal surgery at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton, New Zealand and was monitored in a high dependency unit.

However, Pang’s condition took a turn for the worse and required additional surgery that was completed on 22 Jan. The ministry added that he is being managed in the intensive care unit.

Additionally, Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s Chief of Trauma Dr. Teo Li Tserng is reportedly working with the New Zealand’s medical team to provide care for Pang.

Get well soon Aloysius. We are all praying for your recovery and that you can come home soon.
