12 women arrested in a five-day enforcement operation: SPF

A total of 12 women, aged between 23 and 38, were arrested, during a five-day enforcement operation against massage establishments and public entertainment outlets from 14 to 18 Jan.

Central Police Division conducted the operation along Tanjong Pagar Road, Beach Road, North Bridge Road, Victoria Street, Outram Road, Coleman Street, Kitchener Road, Jalan Sultan, Keong Saik Road, Neil Road, Keng Cheow Street, and Robinson Road.

During the operation, five unlicensed massage establishments were discovered, and five other massage establishments were found to violate the licensing laws.

Eight women were arrested for offenses under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act and Women’s Charter while the other four were arrested for violations under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.

Investigations are still ongoing.

Meanwhile, actions will be taken against the operators for breaching the rules and regulations under the Public Entertainment Act and Massage Establishment Act 2017. The police added that they would continue to take enforcement action against those found breaking the law.
