A woman has been taken to the hospital after a fire broke out at the headquarters of a pest control company, Rentokil Initial Singapore, in MacPherson on 21 Dec.

Plumes of thick black smoke could be seen billowing from the building even from hundreds of meters away.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded to the incident at around 9.20am.

A total of 14 emergency vehicles and about 45 firefighters were deployed to combat the fire. 7 water jets, including the application of foam, were used to extinguish the fire at the ground floor of the three-story building.

The fire was fully extinguished in about 2 hours. Damping down operations are ongoing.

SCDF added that the injured woman was taken to Raffles Hospital after complaining of back pain while evacuating the building. Thankfully, no one else was injured.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Thank you SCDF for your great efforts once more. A brilliant job well done!
