A single-story furniture warehouse at Sungei Kadut Street 2 caught fire on 17 December 2018. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the fire at around 3am.
A total of 25 emergency vehicles and about 90 firefighters were deployed to combat the fire. 12 water jets were used to bring the fire under control.
The fire was extinguished in 4 hours, while damping down operations are still in progress.
Fortunately, there were no casualties and nearby buildings were unaffected by the fire.
Investigations on the cause of the fire are still ongoing.
Due to the quick response time of the SCDF team, the fire is contained. Kudos to the firefighting team for their hard work.
