South Korea: Who says politics must only be dominated by stern and seriously looking old men?

Jeong Han Do (26) ran as a candidate for the Yongin City Council in the provincial election held on the 13 June and emerged as the youngest city council member of Yongin after winning the election.

Prior to running in the provincial election, Jeong Han Do, who major in German language and literature in Korea University, has served as a secretary in Congressman Pyo Chang Won’s office for two years.

His interest in politics grew over the two years, which led him to his decision to run for the provincial election in Yongin.

Jeong Han Do expressed his desire to draw the interest and participation among citizens and to make a difference across Yongin city with the citizens’ involvement.

The youngest politician also pledged that he will focus on making improvements for young adults.
